Idaho Stampede
I was picked fourth overall (first round) in the 2007 NBDL draft by the Idaho Stampede. I came into training camp in shape and anxious to play. Being sidelined with Atlanta, my competitive nature was taking over and I was ready to compete. I was practicing well and on the starting team until the fourth or fifth practice when I came down on a teammates foot in practice. When my MRI results came back I was told I would be out for the season because of my ankle injury. Again, it seemed as if my dreams were shattered without even getting an opportunity to play. So again, I tried to learn as much as I could about being a great point guard from veteran point guard, Randy Livingston. Not only did Randy teach me about basketball, but he taught me a lot about life after basketball. He taught me how important building relationships with the community and giving back was for life after basketball. He explained to me the different funds/charities he had and how they helped various communities.
With all that said, I packed up my newly learned life lessons, injured left ankle, and belongings and headed out.
